Cavalier Rescue Foundation
Cavalier Rescue Foundation (CRF) is a small boutique 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue located in the Phoenix–Scottsdale area. Run by two best friends, Erin and Nicole, both single mothers balancing full-time careers and families, and supported by a devoted network of foster homes, CRF is truly a passion project fueled by dedication, love, and commitment.
We are a volunteer-based rescue focused on helping neglected and unwanted Cavaliers find safe, loving, and permanent homes. Every Cavalier we take in—whether from an owner surrender, breeder release, or large-scale breeding facility—is fostered in a home environment until they are ready for their forever family. All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the care and rescue of our dogs. No salaries, no overhead—just wholehearted devotion to the dogs we save.
A majority of our Cavaliers have come from large-scale breeding facilities throughout the Midwest. These facilities often prioritize profit over animal welfare, keeping dogs in crowded kennels with little human contact. Females are bred repeatedly from as young as six months old, and their puppies are sold online, locally, or through pet stores. While we have rescued many Cavaliers through dog auctions—often during complete kennel sellouts—we are now transitioning to working directly with breeders who choose to responsibly retire their breeding dogs. This allows us to give these dogs the chance to experience life in a loving home rather than being recycled back into breeding programs or put into dog auctions. At times, we also receive puppies as breeder releases. Some of these puppies may have medical issues, but more often they are healthy, and for reasons as simple as an umbilical hernia or a downturn in the dog market, they are released to us.
Cavaliers are remarkably resilient, and no matter the hardships they have endured, they quickly learn to trust and love their human companions. The bond that forms between rescued Cavaliers and their families is truly indescribable, and it is the reason we do what we do: to help every beloved Cavalier find a forever home where they will receive the lifelong care, love, and attention they deserve.
